When asked if he could wish for anything in the world, Gabe wished to have a gamer’s computer. With the support of iBUYPOWER, 12-year-old Gabe’s wish came true.
A few iBUYPOWER employees along with Make-A-Wish Michigan volunteers and staff threw a surprise party for Gabe at his home, featuring pizza, drinks, a "Durr Burger" cake, and a brand-new gaming setup.
Gabe fights a tough battle against end-stage kidney disease as well as virtual battles in Fortnite. Before receiving his wish, Gabe had been playing games on his phone. Now, he enjoys a new PC setup, complete with an iBUYPOWER gaming desktop, peripherals and a ViewSonic monitor. Encased in a sleek Slate 2 case, the high-performance PC boasts an Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card with 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. This top-notch system was paired with the ViewSonic XG2702 monitor, a 27" full HD gaming monitor with a 144 Hz refresh rate to support fast-paced action scenes.
After long, exhausting trips to the hospital for dialysis treatment, Gabe can now relax by playing some of his favorite games on his PC, such as Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty. Or, he can watch videos of his favorite gaming YouTubers on his new monitor. Most of all, his gaming setup enables Gabe to play video games and hang out with his friends online.
“iBUYPOWER has participated in fulfilling a child's wish before, and it is an incredibly meaningful experience each time,” Jennifer Kim of iBUYPOWER said. “Thanks to the joint efforts by iBP and ViewSonic, a child's life was positively impacted. Gaming continues to reveal its unique benefits for everyone.”
