We adopted Jase from China in January 2017 knowing he would eventually need a kidney transplant. Jase, who is now 4, had been diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease. As a family we were prepared for it, but it didn’t make it any easier to go through it.
Jase was previously on dialysis for a year and a half before an altruistic donor provided a kidney for him. Prior to his first kidney transplant, we have been through a lot of medications, doctors' appointments and labs. The toughest part for Jase is that he doesn’t even understand yet what his kidney disease will mean for the rest of his life.
Visiting Walt Disney World® Resort was the highlight of Jase’s childhood. Nothing will ever be able to top this experience that we had as a family. The last few years have been very tough on Jase and everyone in the family.
Being able to see Jase's happiness when meeting Mickey is a highlight I will never forget.
Make-A-Wish® Michigan really provided our family with the opportunity to have a break. This vacation away was what everyone in my family needed. My family has had so many obstacles and challenges on Jase’s well-being that we all deserved a week to forget about the tough times. Dreams do come true!
As a family having a child with a serious medical need, you live in a constant state of fear about their health and what might happen.
Make-A-Wish granted us a wish that made Jase and our family forget about everything. I am so grateful, and I would like to express that all donations truly help a family that really needs and deserves it through stressful times.
With more than 800 Michigan children currently in need of a wish come true, your continued fundraising efforts and support are vital to our ability to fulfill these wishes.
Because of the postponement of all travel wishes due to COVID-19, there will be more Michigan wish kids waiting for wishes than ever before.
Will you donate today to bring hope and joy to wish kids like Jase in your community?
