Aubrey Cohoon’s goal to help other people and grant wishes has landed her on the list of Michigan residents being honored for their volunteer efforts. The Michigan Community Service Commission recently announced that Cohoon, 12, has been named as one of 28 winners of the 2016 Governor’s Service Awards. She is receiving the Youth Volunteer of the Year Award.

Oxford resident Mark Terrian recently joined approximately 900 cyclists for an exhausting and exhilarating event July 28-31, which raised more than $2 million for the granting of wishes for Michigan children who are battling daunting illnesses.
An avid cyclist for the past 12 years, this was Terrian’s first time participating in the 29th Annual Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour.

For the seventh year in a row, Aberdeen Bike and Outdoors will be the bike mechanic for the Wish-A-Mile 50, which is a 50-mile bike ride ending at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn this Sunday, July 31. Aberdeen has supported the WAM 50 all seven years of its existence. This ride benefits Make-A-Wish Michigan to help grant life-changing wishes to Michigan kids.
