On a sunny day at Universal Studios® Florida, Angelo was grinning from ear-to-ear when he met Captain America, hugging him and posing for pictures. Angelo forgot about all of the hospital visits, and focused on meeting all of his heroes.
Angelo, 3, has been in and out of the hospital since being diagnosed with Wilms' tumor. He was so in awe and immediately wanted to call his uncles and his grandma to share his excitement. Angelo proudly posed with a poster that read, "I'm battling cancer, what's your super power?" as they paraded through the theme park.
"The best moment was when he saw SpongeBob and all of the superheroes, especially when he saw Captain America," said Ericka, Angelo's mom. "I will never forget the smile Angelo had on his face. To see him so happy, especially after everything that we've been through, it's a priceless moment."
In addition to meeting SpongeBob Squarepants and Captain America, Angelo met the Transformers, Spiderman, Shrek and Buzz Lightyear.
"We have no words to describe everything that was done for us," Ericka said. "It was like a ray of light in the midst of pure darkness. It signified an end to a fight we won, thanks to all of the people that, with much love, made his dreams come true."
