A girl who enjoys raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the company that paints the charitable organization's race car are teaming up for a special event this weekend.
Car Show for a Cause, scheduled for Saturday, is designed as a way to display many cars ranging from Lowriders to Corvettes to hot rods, while also raising money for Make-A-Wish Michigan, an organization that grants the "wishes" of children who have life-threatening medical conditions.

Make-A-Wish Michigan is stepping up to bring joy to two brothers fighting the same, uncommon disease. Crews were out building a one-of-a-kind playground for Ethan and Nolan Kosmerick. Both boys suffer from eosinophilic disorder, which prompts them to travel to the University of Cincinnati every 10 weeks for treatment.

A Jenison teenager has had a front row seat to history in the making in Rio. A gymnast herself, Kiley Wiers dreamed of seeing her favorite team compete in the Olympics. Thanks to Make-A-Wish Michigan, she was in Rio with her family as the team took gold.

Kiley Wiers, 12, was greeted with cheers as she stepped into the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Monday morning for the trip, made possible by Make-A-Wish Michigan.

Aubrey Cohoon’s goal to help other people and grant wishes has landed her on the list of Michigan residents being honored for their volunteer efforts. The Michigan Community Service Commission recently announced that Cohoon, 12, has been named as one of 28 winners of the 2016 Governor’s Service Awards. She is receiving the Youth Volunteer of the Year Award.

Oxford resident Mark Terrian recently joined approximately 900 cyclists for an exhausting and exhilarating event July 28-31, which raised more than $2 million for the granting of wishes for Michigan children who are battling daunting illnesses.
An avid cyclist for the past 12 years, this was Terrian’s first time participating in the 29th Annual Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour.

For the seventh year in a row, Aberdeen Bike and Outdoors will be the bike mechanic for the Wish-A-Mile 50, which is a 50-mile bike ride ending at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn this Sunday, July 31. Aberdeen has supported the WAM 50 all seven years of its existence. This ride benefits Make-A-Wish Michigan to help grant life-changing wishes to Michigan kids.

It was during a spin cycle class in 2003 when Marry decided to venture outdoors. She joined a Midland group that rode 300 miles on bicycles from one end of the state to the other in the three-day Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour, one of Make-A-Wish Michigan’s biggest fundraisers.
