Make-A-Wish Michigan is holding their annual ball on Friday, May 12, at the DeVos Place. This is the signature fundraising event of the year. Their goal this year is to raise enough money to grant 450 wishes in the community.

Some families in West Michigan had one of their dreams come true Thursday night. Nine children were surprised with an appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse before watching Disney on Ice at Van Andel Arena, all thanks to Make-A-Wish.

Groves High School students spent Feb. 10-16 coming up with as many zany ways to raise money as they could for Wish Week. Wish Week consisted of a week of competitions, fundraising activities and programs designed to raise money for Make-A-Wish Michigan. This culminated with a rally Feb. 16 at which the total amount raised was revealed - $31,429.44.

Students, staff and members of the Groves High School community rallied together over the past seven days to raise a whopping $31,429.34 for Make-A-Wish Michigan during the school’s second annual Charity Week — placing the Birmingham school tops in the state for the fundraising week.

A Traverse Heights Elementary School room was full of excitement Wednesday afternoon, all in honor of a very special classmate. 10-year-old Evan Matusik was diagnosed with brain cancer in June 2015. Doctors removed the tumor a month later, but in October the cancer came back. This weekend he’s heading down state with his family for a Make-A-Wish trip to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center and Sea Life Aquarium.

Thanks to Meijer, 10 children involved in the Make-A-Wish program will be having a far merrier Christmas than before.
Meijer donated 10 gift baskets to Make-A-Wish Michigan to deliver to kids suffering from debilitating diseases.
