Development Officer - Northern Michigan

Make-A-Wish Michigan is seeking a part-time Development Officer to work remotely from the Traverse City area. The Development Officer – Northern Michigan will develop relationships with northern Michigan based corporations, individuals, community organizations, schools and media to further the mission of Make-A-Wish. This position will be responsible for connecting prospective supporters in a meaningful manner to secure incremental funding from the northern Michigan market as well as increased awareness. Additional responsibilities include establishing and leading an annual northern Michigan fundraising event. The requirements of this position include a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of increasingly significant sales or development roles with revenue responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess a proven record of successful development, event management, or sales goals achievement.

Donor Analytics Manager

Make-A-Wish Michigan is seeking a Donor Analytics Manager to work full-time in our Brighton headquarters. The Donor Analytics Manager will provide strategic guidance and support to help increase the fundraising effectiveness of the chapter. This position will partner with chapter development officers to manage and build pipelines of potential individual, corporate, and other donors. The manager will provide research on donors and prospects to expand the pool of potential prospects, provide timely and meaningful information to help deepen relationships, and ensure that moves management processes, donor data and tracking reports and are up-to-date and meet the needs of the team. This position will also provide critical analysis of development performance on key metrics. The requirements of this position include a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of experience managing systems and support for development programs. The ideal candidate will possess experience working with Raisers Edge (or similar) in a data management capacity.

Data Entry Clerk, Temporary

Make-A-Wish Michigan is seeking a Data Entry Clerk to work temporarily, from April to August, in our Brighton headquarters. Ideally, this candidate would be available to work Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Data Entry Clerk will assist our Donor Care and Gift Processing Coordinator in entering data into our database from paper documents. Additional responsibilities include updating existing constituent data, sorting and organizing paperwork related to data entry, and other projects as assigned. The requirements of this position include a high school diploma/GED, proficient typing skills, attention to detail, basic understanding of databases, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Development Officer - West

Make-A-Wish Michigan is looking for an energetic, positive and collaborative Development Officer – West to join it’s dynamic development team. This is a full-time position in our Grand Rapids office. This position is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the Wish Ball and Walk For Wishes in West Michigan, along with Third Party Events and other events and initiatives that are developed within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will be well versed in relationship building, data analysis, be well-organized and passionate about the Make-A-Wish mission. This candidate must be a strong communicator and able to collaborate with many different groups of individuals. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing or non-profit management, and 3 or more years of non-profit fundraising experience.

Volunteer Manager

Make-A-Wish Michigan is seeking resumes for the position of Volunteer Manager that will be based out of the Brighton Headquarters. The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for leading and managing a statewide network of more than 700 volunteers to support the organization’s mission. The Manager will assess the organization’s needs and devise and implement an annual plan including oversight of the department budget, program evaluation and volunteer data. The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for matching volunteers to opportunities and will oversee the Volunteer Coordinator. The Manager will also be responsible for managing and implementing a retention and recognition plan for Make-A-Wish Michigan. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and CVA certification is preferred. Candidates should possess 3-5 years of prior volunteer management and/or HR experience. Candidates should have the ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs. Strong verbal (including public speaking experience) and written communication skills are essential to carry out the duties of this position.

Finance Manager

Make-A-Wish Michigan is seeking a Finance Manager. This is a full-time position located in our Brighton Headquarters. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting and budgeting functions for the organization and will be responsible for the development and implementation of finance policies and procedures. The Finance Manager will be the liaison to our national office and the team that handles our AP function. The Finance Manager will monitor and anticipate cash flow needs and evaluate and predict banking needs. S/he will also prepare financial reports for the staff and Board and will prepare necessary reporting for the annual audit, IRS Form 990, and all federal, state and local tax filings.   The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field and/or minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in accounting and/or finance, preferably with a non-profit organization (CPA preferred). Outstanding knowledge of spreadsheets is a must with a high degree of knowledge of accounting software. Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are essential to successfully carry out the duties of this position.

Marketing and Brand Manager

Make-A-Wish Michigan is now hiring for a Marketing and Brand Manager. This is a full-time position located in our Brighton headquarters. The Marketing and Brand Manager is responsible for all graphic design projects and is also responsible for managing the organization’s social media strategy and websites. The Manager will research and track web analytics, report on metrics for programs and provide benefit fulfillment for event sponsorships. The Marketing and Brand Manager will oversee the creation of all print and digital collateral materials, including for signature events. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing or communications and three to five years of experience in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should possess a strong background in graphic design, project management, social media and event organization, marketing and execution. Must have strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

Wish Coordinator

Make-A-Wish Michigan is seeking resumes for the position of Wish Coordinator. This is a full-time position, based out of the Brighton Headquarters. The Wish Coordinator is responsible for the management, planning and execution of wishes. Ensures accuracy, cost-effectiveness and timeliness standards are maintained for all wish arrangements for our wish families and is charged with adhering to the policies, guidelines and procedures established by the National Office and Make-A-Wish Michigan. The Wish Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community partners, medical professionals, and wish families. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in social work. Candidates must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and provide excellent customer service in a compassionate and caring manner.
